Designer

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design of tooling and or equipment from preliminary concepts, specifications and initial scope of work
  • Must review and thoroughly understand various customer requirements and respective build standards
  • Design can include but not limited to: general arrangement, complex assemblies, fabrications and tooling
  • Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) for ordering and scheduling purposes
  • Provide detailed drawings for manufacturing
  • Provide shop support as needed for design clarification
  • Assist the sales department when quoting new work:
    • Develop conceptual drawings
    • Estimate costs based on concept drawings
    • Estimate overall timing of potential work
  • Track project spending and timing

Qualifications and Skills

  • College diploma and/or relevant design experience
  • Full proficiency with Solidworks
  • A keen eye for detail with a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to turn conceptual ideas into workable designs
  • Proficiency with Excel and other related office software
  • Project management skills
  • Strong communicator
  • Able to facilitate design review meetings
  • Knowledge of industrial controls (pneumatic, hydraulic electrical) would be an asset

General Machinist

General Machinists, Manual Boring Mill Operators, Manual Lathe Operators, Manual Mill Operators, CNC Programmer, CNC Mill and Lathe Set-up/Operators

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Machine Operator's job necessitates set up and operating a variety of machines to produce precision parts. Apply knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.
  • Properly place or setup part in required fixturing.
  • Comprehend dimensions or tolerances using all types of measuring tools including mics, calipers, dial indicators, etc…
  • Job requires attention to detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Deburr, polish and preform dimensional checks as required.
  • Setup and perform basic lathe operations including turning, facing, drilling, boring and threading.
  • Calculate speed rates and feeds for various materials.
  • Setup vises, 4 jaw chuck, cut soft jaws.
  • Understand basic tool sharpening.
  • Read and make parts from mechanical drawings, blueprints, sketches and samples.
  • Hold close tolerances +/- .001".
  • Work in a clean, organized and safe manner.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full knowledge of Machine controller and proper use of operational alignments and tooling.
  • Job requires the ability to use all types of measuring tools.
  • Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Capable of preserving confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Job requires being reliable, responsible, dependable and fulfilling obligations.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant machining experience.

CNC Setup/Operators, Programmers

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Properly place or set up part in required fixturing.
  • Deburr, polish and perform dimensional checks before releasing part to next sequence.
  • Perform in process inspections on all parts.
  • Perform all general house keeping and maintenance- daily, weekly, monthly as outlined in machine maintenance manual.
  • Properly identify material and recognize any difficulties while cutting.
  • Prepare tooling for work to be performed as efficiently as possible to meet customer deadlines.
  • Make recommendations for processing improvements to tooling, fixturing and programming.
  • Perform complex set-ups and fixturing for low runs and one off's.
  • Aid in instruction and development of junior members of the CNC department.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Job Setup, G and M Code Comprehension, Familiar with Fanuc and Haas Controls.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in programming, setting up, and operating of CNC Machining Centers.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD data.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • CNC Programming experience using mastercam.
  • Ability to read and accurately follow drawings.
  • Positive Attitude and Team Player.
  • Attention to detail and takes pride in doing quality work.
